We collect only the minimal data required to provide a fast, reliable, and secure educational and classroom management experience.

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Tutor Account & Profile: Name, email address, optional institute/coaching name, and subject specializations when you set up your tutor account.
• Classroom & Student Data: Student names, batch assignments, attendance timestamps, fee logs, test marks, and academic remarks entered directly by tutors. This data is managed by the tutor as the data controller.
• Customer Support Communications: If you contact us directly via email (facticitonary@gmail.com), we collect your email address and any attachments or feedback you submit.

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Study Progress & Streaks: Formula card view counts, bookmarked cards, mastery levels, active study modes, and daily learning streaks are recorded locally and synced via secure cloud storage.
• Device & Telemetry Data: Device model, OS version, language preferences, network status, and pseudonymous advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID / AD_ID) for ad delivery and analytics.
• Crash & Diagnostic Logs: Anonymized stack traces and crash events to help us identify and resolve bugs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your data for the following clear and legitimate purposes:

• Core App Operations: Managing student batches, calculating attendance statistics, tracking fee dues, and rendering KaTeX formula cards.
• Offline & Cloud Synchronization: Storing your classroom registers and formula progress so they are instantly accessible offline and synced across your authorized devices.
• App Analytics & Optimization: Monitoring app performance and responsiveness to continuously enhance the user experience.
• Advertising (Free Tier): Displaying non-intrusive interstitial advertisements to free-tier users via Google AdMob in full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.
• In-App Purchases: Enabling seamless premium upgrades and subscriptions via Google Play In-App Billing.
• Customer Support: Responding to user feedback, bug reports, and data requests.

4. Third-Party Services & SDKs

Chalkly integrates trusted industry-standard SDKs that may collect technical or pseudonymous data under their respective privacy policies:

5. Multi-Channel Sharing via External Apps

Chalkly provides convenient sharing features allowing tutors to send fee receipts, attendance summaries, test scorecards, and app referral links via third-party messaging apps (such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, SMS, and Email).

Chalkly does not read, inspect, or store your private chat conversations or contacts. All sharing operations are performed through your device's native operating system share sheet.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

Chalkly serves as a coaching management tool for tutors and a formula study vault for high school students (CBSE Classes 9–12):

• We do not knowingly collect personal contact information (such as personal phone numbers or home addresses) directly from children under 13 without parental or educator consent.
• Student academic records entered into Chalkly are controlled strictly by the tutor/coaching institute.
• We do not sell or use student academic data for commercial behavioral profiling or third-party marketing.

7. Data Security & Storage

We prioritize the security of your data:

• All network communications between the app and cloud backend are encrypted using TLS/HTTPS (SSL) protocols.
• Local database caches are stored securely in your device's private app sandbox.
• While we follow industry best practices, no digital storage or internet transmission is 100% immune to vulnerabilities.

8. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You have full control over your personal data:

• Retention: Your data is retained only as long as your account is active or needed to provide services.
• Account & Data Deletion: You can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated classroom and student records at any time. Simply email us at facticitonary@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request - Chalkly" from your registered email address. Your data will be permanently wiped from active databases within 30 days.
