🔑 Google Sign-In & Authentication

Chalkly uses Google Sign-In as the primary authentication method. When you sign in with Google:

  • What we receive: Your name, email address, and Google profile picture
  • What we don't receive: Your Google password, contacts, or other Google services data
  • How we use it: To create and authenticate your account, personalize your experience
🛡️ Your Google Data

We only access the basic profile information needed to create your account. We cannot access your emails, drive, or other Google services. You can revoke Chalkly's access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings.

Student Access Codes

For student users, we provide a unique 6-digit access code instead of Google authentication. This allows students to:

  • View their attendance and progress without creating a Google account
  • Access only their own data, not other students' information
  • Maintain privacy with minimal data collection

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

🧒 Children's Privacy

Chalkly is designed for use by tutors and educational institutions. Student users (typically minors) access the app through unique access codes provided by their tutors. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental consent.

For student users:

  • Only minimal information is collected (name, grade, attendance, test results)
  • Students access only their own data via access codes
  • No email, phone, or contact information is collected from students
  • Parents can request access to their child's data by contacting their tutor

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without proper consent, please contact us immediately.

🌍 International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through:
